OLIRS Bakuchiol Night Oil Serum — morning vs evening skincare routine

Morning vs. Evening Skincare Routine: What You Need to Know

Same face, two different jobs. In the morning, your routine prepares skin for the day — light layers, protection, nothing that fights with sunlight or sweat. In the evening, it clears the day away and gives richer, more active formulas eight undisturbed hours to work. Once you split your products along that line, most routine questions answer themselves.

The morning routine: protect and go

Goal: clean, hydrated, protected — in under three minutes.

  1. Light cleanse. Skin isn't dirty from sleep, just a little oily. A quick pass with a gentle cleanser like the Daily Cleansing Foam (or just lukewarm water on dry-feeling days) is plenty.
  2. Antioxidant serum. Morning is vitamin C's slot: the Vitamin C Glow Serum supports a brighter-looking complexion and adds cosmetic antioxidant support for the day ahead.
  3. Hydrate light. The Double Hydration Boost Gel on damp skin, or the Firm-Look Day Cream if your skin runs normal to dry.
  4. SPF, every day. The non-negotiable last step — especially the morning after any exfoliating product.

The evening routine: clear and support

Goal: remove the day completely, then let targeted formulas work overnight.

  1. Proper cleanse. Evening is the thorough one — SPF, sweat and city residue all need to come off. Match the texture to your skin: gel for oily, milk for dry-feeling or sensitive-feeling skin.
  2. Your evening active. Pick one per night: the Bakuchiol Night Oil Serum most nights for smoother-looking texture, or the Overnight AHA Exfoliating Serum one to two nights a week.
  3. Seal it in. A night-friendly moisturiser, or a few drops of the All-In-One Facial Oil as the final layer. Late nights showing? Add an eye cream before the oil.

What to keep apart

  • Vitamin C → morning. Bakuchiol and AHAs → evening. Not because they're enemies, but because each performs its role best in that slot — and one active per routine keeps skin comfortable.
  • AHA nights are solo nights. Skip other actives when you exfoliate, and never skip next-morning SPF.
  • Oil goes last. Whatever the routine, an oil seals; nothing water-based gets through after it.

Do you really need both routines?

If you only build one habit, make it the evening — going to bed with a clean, supported face beats everything else for how skin looks and feels by morning. But the morning version costs three minutes, and the two halves are designed to hand off to each other.
